Having such a fantastic fibre readily available to work with, I decided to learn how to felt and turn what we took off the animals into something I could wear.  After developing the technique the next step was to refine the crafting of the various items so that it was not a "labour of love."

The most time consuming part of felting is the continual rolling and Michael's engineering background was the next step in the development, a machine to take the mundane rolling out of the.

Having a machine that does the rolling simulating the uneven pressure that is achieved when rolling manually has made all the difference.  I can be laying up and crafting one item while another is being felted to perfection in the machine.

The possibilities are endless.  Felting is a process that has been around for centuries and was the method of constructing clothing before looms and woven fabric came to the fore.
